Coelet Cotton, 57, passed away at the home in Lawrence, Kansas on November, 24, 2017. Coelet was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 22, 1960 to Alfred Modacure and Eliza Russell. Coelet grew up in Chicago where she attended Cooley High School and later earned her GED. Later, she attended Washburn University in Topeka, KS where received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Criminal Justice. Colet also went on to earn a second Master’s degree from Baker University. After graduation, Coelet was employed a various places, however, her last career she worked as the Life Enrichment Coordinator at Windsor. She also began attaining her entrepreneur goals. Coelet attended Bethlehem Christian Assembly under the leadership of Pastor Raymond Mabion.
In 2015, she married Bruce Cotton in Kansas City, Kansas and the two were happily married for two years.
Coelet also enjoyed cooking, reading and caring for others in her spare time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Debra Phillips and brother Anthony Modacure.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Bruce Cotton, three children; Debra (Dandre) Young, Matthew Galloway (Julie) and Danielle Galloway, five sisters; Dotice, Thelma, Debra, Liz and Nichole, six brothers; Tyrone, Leroy (Elizabeth), Robert (May), Alfred (Kathy), Jeff and Anthony, six Grandchildren, six Great - Grandchildren, two Great - Great - Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
